On the weekend of 22nd October 2011, we arrived in Newcastle as part of a stag do and decided to do paintballing during the day thinking we would have a great time.
However, having been to other paint balling locations across the UK, this has to be the worst for the following reasons:
1: When we got there we were up-sold extra paint balls (at a premium) when we did not really need them. The lady at customer services said we wouldn't really need more than 100 and these would last around 2 hrs, which we later discovered was utter nonsense. The owner said there was a minimum spend per person so we effectively had to buy more balls and we couldn't share balls between us which was a lie as they come in bags of 500!!!
As we had only spent 10 per person inc 100 balls he made out we wouldn't be able to use the course until the min spend had been reached.
2: We were also told that lunch would be served for us as we went for the full day booking. Lunch served consisted of out of date walkers crisps and flap jacks, and some other teams got nothing! This is unacceptable as we were told that we would be provided with lunch, not out of date snack for the whole day.
3: 80% of the guns in the complex failed to gas up which meant everyone was waiting 30-40 mins in between games. However, 2hrs before the end of the session MOST people got fed up because of the waiting around for re-gasing of gun canisters, so many people inc ourselves tried to get a refund on the extra paint balls supplied but the manager was no where to be seen and there were many angry faces waiting for answers
Don't bother with this paintballing firm, try others in the area (not sure which ones as we are not local), even if it means travelling a few miles extra, it will be worth it as you will only be disappointed at this location. We are all just shocked at how badly the place is run, especially as this is major brand ion the UK and has been a major player for years. This kind of thing only gets coverage on watchdog and im shocked that this actually happened on the weekend. Watchdog would have a field day here, (pardon the pun)
TIP: When buying extra paintballs, go to eBay before hand and take them with you as you will find they are 60% cheaper than buying on the day in the complex!!!
